(More customer reviews)Do your own research, but here is the synopsis of mine: Avoid during pregnancy, especially 1st trimester. There are many web sources that speculate that Borage Oil is a teratogen, and these appear to cite one speculative comment in a single research paper. However it is almost always suggested to err on the safe side of avoidance in pregnancy. It's not clear exactly how much Borage Oil is in this formulation. Also, Borage Oil should be PA-free as pyrrolizidine alkaloids are considered toxic. The main reason for taking Borage Oil is for GLA which your body probably makes a sufficient amount of. Algae based (algal) DHA is an alternative that provides some of the desribable fatty acids while avoiding mercury from fish oil and other toxic contaminants such as in Borage Oil.
