Designer Whey is my protein mix of choice, so when my usual DESIGNER WHEY French Vanilla was out of stock, I thought I'd try this one. I've had good luck with building lean mass using whey.
Sadly, this version (unlike my usual) has sucralose, aka Splenda. (it wasn't mentioned in the amazon listing at the time). While that's better than Aspartame (aka Nutrasweet), I normally avoid all artificial sweeteners when I'm looking to enhance my health. Also, in this case it tastes kind of bad too; since the mix has some cream as well, the overall flavor is a bit like a watery strawberry Quik (ie, flavored children's milk product). Not my usual go-to drink.
On the positive, the mix dissolves in a tall glass of room-temperature water with low-effort spoon-mixing, just as readily as my preferred variant. Very little residue is left behind after drinking, implying it dissolved completely.
Rather than using cloying artificial sweeteners, I wish the manufacturer would just say "tastes best with a packet of your favorite sweetener". Especially since they recommend using a shaker or a blender, blending in your own sweetener into the mix wouldn't be hard.
The whey protein/brand are recommended, this particular flavor/formulation not so much.
